Dana Walker arranged for participants to meet a therapy dog for PALS third Family Meet-up. Held at the Sharpsburg Community Library, parents, kids, and sibs came together to meet Lewis the Therapy Dog and his handler/familyl Amanda. We learned Lewis is a three year-old Standard Poodle / German Shepard mix. He and Amanda worked together to complete obidence training with Lewis becoming a certified Canine Good Citizen. Lewis continued his studies and the evaluation process to become a Certified Therapy Dog. He now visits different people providing comfort and joy to all who meet him.
It would not be a PALS Family Meet-up without an activity. Particpants enjoyed arts and crafts at their leisure including designing your own dog and even this innovative belly rub device. Lewis was a great sport and seemed to enjoy this gift.
